 | Posted On: 07/08/07 Here I am at Monett lapping the 72 car and then all of the sudden I snapped out of my day dream as the 72 blew by me like a bat out of hell (little did I know his throttle had stuck wide open) right before he launched it off the end of the backstretch, finally coming to rest in a lagoon full of raw sewage. They had to call the Roto-Rooter Man to extract him from the swamp! Ever since that night, he's been affectionatly know in the pits as "Stinky". But always one to learn from his mistakes, he now races with a snorkel at all times. When asked by a reporter afterwards about the incident, all he had to say was, "I've put up with a lot of crap in my life, but this is ridiculous". |
